Just one goal in his initial ten top-flight outings this campaign had numerous doubting if Dominic Calvert-Lewin's prime were over.

But, a just four weeks later, he is the most talked-about forward in England following scoring 7 goals in 6 back-to-back games.

His newest strike, in a tie versus Sunderland, brought his total to eight, making him the leading English scorer in the Premier League so far this season.

A Remarkable Revival

The 28-year-old moved to Leeds United on a Bosman move in the summer, after a nine-year stint with Everton that was marred by fitness issues in its closing stages.

But, the statistics behind his revival in Daniel Farke's new fast-breaking 3-5-2 system are genuinely notable.

His six-match scoring streak puts him in elite company as only the 11th English player to score in six or more straight Premier League outings.

To frame that statistic, even England captain Harry Kane was unable to produce a run this long - his longest is two individual five-match runs.

And the only English striker to better Calvert-Lewin in recent years is Jamie Vardy, who went on an eight-game scoring spree for Leicester City in 2019.

What's Behind the Purple Patch?

What is behind Calvert-Lewin so hard to stop in recent weeks? A latest opponent's manager summed it up succinctly.
